Atul Dhir
I am a physician, scientist, health care leader, entrepreneur, and an executive coach/mentor with a deep commitment to transformational leadership and Nonviolent Communication (NVC). Having served on multiple nonprofit and corporate boards, I bring strategic vision, cross-cultural insights, and a passion for integrating NVC principles into leadership to help CNVC expand its global impact and reach.
I am deeply inspired by the principles of NVC and the profound impact it has had on my personal and professional life. For me, NVC represents a pathway to authentic connection, emotional clarity, and compassionate leadership. I am eager to contribute to CNVC’s mission of spreading these principles globally and integrating them into new models of leadership.
My desire to serve on the Board of Directors stems from a sense of gratitude and a commitment to give back to a practice that has enriched my life. As a global community, CNVC is uniquely positioned to lead a movement of interpersonal connection and understanding in a world often divided by conflict and disconnection. I believe that with the right strategic vision and operational support, CNVC can be a model of a global organization that embodies the humanistic principles of NVC. It can build and grow organizations that aspire to combine their social mission with inclusive leadership and sustainable financial results.
I bring a blend of experiences that I believe align with CNVC’s mission. As a physician, an international management consultant and a CEO of four organizations, I have worked at the intersection of leadership, personal growth, and organizational transformation. I’ve served on nonprofit and corporate boards, navigating complex governance, strategy, and growth initiatives. My approach is grounded in the belief that leadership is not just about achieving outcomes but about fostering human potential and creating environments where people can thrive and work together to create powerful products and services that meet society’s core needs.
What excites me most about serving on the board is the opportunity to help CNVC integrate its core principles and mindset into practical, sustainable strategies for personal and organizational growth and impact. I envision CNVC evolving to a global model of compassionate, high-functioning, financially sustainable organization—one that teaches not only the principles of NVC but also demonstrates them through how it operates. Specifically, I hope to contribute by helping the organization refine its strategic goals, strengthen governance and financial sustainability, and explore innovative ways to expand its reach and impact in healthcare and education. My professional background equips me to bring insights into effective leadership, strategic planning, and operational excellence while staying rooted in the human values that CNVC represents.
Additionally, I see an opportunity for CNVC to deepen its role as a global leader by developing tools, resources, and frameworks that integrate NVC into leadership development, conflict resolution, and organizational culture. I would like to support CNVC in building partnerships with like-minded organizations and expanding its influence across diverse sectors and communities. Ultimately, my vision is for CNVC to thrive as a source of inspiration and transformation, empowering individuals and organizations to lead with empathy, authenticity, and connection. I am honored by the possibility of serving on the board and contributing to this important work. (Board term expires December 2027)
