Support emerging peace leaders in Kenya
...with Nonviolent Communication training
Help funding tuition, room and board for Kenyans who are eager to use NVC to help overcome systemic violence and create a more peaceful, equitable world for themselves, their families, and communities. Bring these tools to up to 75 people in Kenya and nearby countries by making a donation.
Many Kenyans lack the financial resources to receive the in-depth training that they need in order to become leaders in their own communities. Burdened with the everyday task of earning money to support their families in an economic system with high income inequality, it is not practical to commit to an intensive training.
Donate today
With your help, we can make a big difference by funding tuition, room and board of the participants and even in some cases their travel costs to make sure that the people who are ready to make this investment can attend our 9-day in-person intensive training in Kenya (beginning 04-Apr-2025) that will help to bring peace and nonviolence to this region of the world.
100% of the money donated to this campaign will be used to support participants from these countries, covering tuition, accommodation, and in some cases, travel expenses for people who would otherwise not be able to attend.
If you would like to support one or more people to participate, please make a donation on this page! Also, we welcome you to attend the training in-person -- we have allocated 15 spaces for international participants so please join us for what will be an amazing living and learning experience! (email [email protected] for more information about attending). Giving levels include (USD):

KENYA INTERNATIONAL INTENSIVE TRAINING (IIT)
04-Apr to 13-Apr 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya
Theme: "Healing Connections: Empowering Change through Compassionate Communication"
Vision
Our vision is to see a vibrant and cohesive society in Kenya, its neighbours and East Africa community where individuals leverage the power of empathy, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness to foster peaceful interactions and transformative change by learning and living NVC. We envision a future where communities heal from childhood wounds, bridge divides through intentional dialogue, and embrace a leadership model that prioritises collaboration, reconciliation, and inclusivity. In an age of global unrest and political polarization, we aim to cultivate a culture where power is shared, and every voice counts.
Mission
The mission of the Kenya CNVC IIT April 2025 is to empower individuals, organisations, companies, policy makers, governments, teachers, religious communities and the society at large to recognize and harness the transformative potential of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) as a tool for emotional intelligence and change leadership. Through workshops, training sessions, and communal gatherings, we will facilitate a journey of self-discovery, promoting cohesion and healing. We seek to nurture a deeper awareness of our emotions and the experiences that shape us, ultimately leading to impactful mediation and reconciliation efforts. Our goal is to bridge the gap between power over and power with leadership, fostering an empathetic community that thrives on intentional communication and constructive dialogue.
NVC for Social Change
In the context of escalating social media dynamics and the challenges posed by global unrest, our approach to Nonviolent Communication focuses on navigating conflict with grace and compassion. We recognize that effective communication can serve as a catalyst for peace, providing the tools necessary for individuals to express their needs and feelings without fear of judgement or retaliation. By fostering emotional intelligence and self-awareness, we will build resilience within communities, enabling them to respond with compassion rather than react to tensions.
We will advocate for sociocratic principles in leadership, prioritising collective decision-making and shared power. This approach empowers community members to engage meaningfully and constructively, deepening their connections and developing trust. Our NVC initiatives aim to cultivate an environment where individuals feel seen and heard, allowing for the healing of childhood wounds that often perpetuate cycles of conflict and misunderstanding.
Core Values:
- Empathy:
As the foundation of NVC, empathy enables us to relate to one another's experiences, fostering deeper connections. - Cohesion:
