Kara Bowman
I have been involved in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) since 2008. I love the intentions, power, and wisdom of NVC every bit as much as when I was first introduced to it by hearing Marshall Rosenberg speak.
After giving many varied trainings, I decided to pursue a Master's Degree and become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist so I would have more tools in my toolbox. This has been extremely fulfilling and I have settled on specialties in grief, trauma, and developmental trauma. In order to learn more, I obtained advanced certifications as a Grief Counselor, Trauma Professional and Thanatologist (the study of death and dying). While my psychological learning has enhanced my NVC work, I still consider NVC the structure upon which all of my other philosophies, knowledge and approaches rest.
I am passionate about helping people connect with themselves and others, and become their best selves. I believe NVC is a wonderful tool that can help create this reality.
“I love supporting people one-on-one in healing deep wounds. I also enjoy sharing NVC with groups, especially in the areas of grief, trauma and personal growth.”
