Renata Bielańska
I dream of a world where there is a place for everyone and where we are able to see our humanity in each other. NVC has come into my life through my children, and every day, I learn something about myself from them. In my NVC path, at some stage, a desire to make NVC more accessible arose in me. I strongly wish that groups of excluded people would also have the opportunity to experience what the NVC is. That's how I came across the "Probacja" Foundation some years ago, which I am currently a part of.
I run workshops on NVC-based communication for groups of men and women in Cracow's prisons and also a group for moms with penitentiary experience. We are currently starting a project to spread our activities across Poland's prisons. My dream is to change the judicial system in Poland, taking into account the well-being of children, who - in a way - serve their sentence together with their parents.
My background is in Art History and Cultural Studies (Comparative Studies of Civilizations). I also teach communication classes, based on NVC at few universities in Cracow. I come from a small town in the Polish Tatra Mountains - Zakopane. I carry a great love for all contact with nature, which I fuel myself with every day. I work as a climbing instructor at the University of Physical Education in Cracow. Personally, I have been training in climbing for seventeen years. In addition, I'm a big fan of cross-country skiing and mountain running, sometimes taking part in competitions. The conscious contact with the body is very important to me. I go on many journeys inside myself, which include
meditation and intuitive dancing.
