Tom Carlisi
Tom Carlisi, MA, embodies a true care and commitment to building a more peaceful world. With over 30 years of dedicated service as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and Youth Service Learning Specialist, Tom’s commitment to peace and service shines through. He has served as the Rotary Peace Chair for District for eight years and played an instrumental role as a founding member of the first Rotary Peace Chapter of Ohio.
Tom’s passion for community engagement has led to groundbreaking initiatives like the creation of the First Family Program for a teenage drug and alcohol center in Ohio. Leveraging expertise in trauma-informed care and collaboration across diverse sectors, he has made a significant impact globally, reflecting an unwavering dedication to promoting healing, understanding, and peace worldwide. As the Founder of Carlisi & Associates, Tom’s gifts come alive in holding space for many people to come together, to multiply their talents and effects, for many to receive.
Tom emphasizes Needs-Based Management skills that helps clients 1) clarify core challenges; 2) identify and express needs that promotes understanding and connection with others; 3) develops effective solutions that meet mutual needs with respect; thereby 4) enhancing positive individual and relationship connections… with satisfying results and joy.
Coach and Trainer: Tom specializes in coaching and training topics, including 1) relationship issues in personal life and/or workforce settings, 2) personal growth to maximize one’s quality of life, 3) conflict resolution, 4) substance dependency issues, 5) developing highly effective teams in the workplace. He is also a trainer for the Center for Compassionate Communication, a non-profit organization, featuring the Nonviolent Communication model of Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D.
Consultation: Tom provides Community Outreach and Engagement consultation and services to educational systems and community/faith based organizations.
His volunteer work includes Peace initiatives and multiple projects with Columbus Rotary and the Compassionate Communication Center of Ohio. He is a founding member and current Advisory Board member of CCCO. In addition, past experiences include: 1) Founder and Executive Director, Winners’ League Foundation, a non-profit organization, specializing in Youth Educational Programs (Service-Learning and Youth Workforce Development); 2) Founder of Northwoods Counseling Center; 3) Consultant to the Educational Counsel (Franklin County, OH).
Tom has a Master’s Degree from Ohio State University, Department of Education, Special Services. Also, he is a graduate of the Family Therapy Institute of Cincinnati, Ohio. Tom is an alumnus of the Leadership Ohio program. In Rotary, he serves as:
