Tricia Martin
Certified Trainer since 2023
Tricia Martin believes connecting with ourselves, each other and the natural world is key for our well-being and a needed foundation for sustainable living. Discovering Nonviolent Communication (NVC) in 2017 was pivotal in her life and allowed her entire worldview to fall into place—her lifelong interest in conservation, culture, self-discovery, and mindfulness. Nonviolent Communication has become a container for her passions, providing the insight, intention, and clarity to both make sense of the world, as well as be a positive change agent within it.
Tricia has worked primarily in the nonprofit sector. Over the course of two decades, she served in a variety of positions for The Nature Conservancy. In 2015, she returned to Bok Tower Gardens as the Director of Education and in 2020 expanded her role and became the Director of Visitor Engagement. She earned her B.A. from the University of Connecticut in Political Science and conducted graduate research at Cambridge University as well as the University of Central Florida.
In 2019, Tricia helped to organize an International Intensive Training (IIT) in Florida through the Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC). She loves sharing NVC with people of all ages. . Tricia envisions creating a more peaceful world by healing one relationship at a time starting with ourselves. NVC offers us the tools to access the power of empathy for others, the natural world and ourselves. These skills are crucial now more than ever to support compassion, connection, and resilience during these challenging times.
