We’ll be exploring these questions based on our experiences from the collectives, communities and organizations in which we work:

What is Beloved Community and what processes support and sustain it?
How does the history of Nonviolence and Nonviolent Communication guide our understanding of community strength and offer us skills to sustain communities?
What is the role of individuals within Beloved Community and how do we hold both collective and individual well-being?
How can we see the system and group dynamics that are often invisible to many? What are the impacts of different kinds of power? How can we collectively understand and acknowledge what is going on?
What are the differences in terminology like bias, prejudice, discrimination, rank, power, privilege, cultural diversity, social location and intersectionality? Why does it matter if we share a common understanding?

This interactive, experiential workshop will provide you with concrete ideas for reflection and action:

Identify and practice inner resources that make us more effective leaders and influencers in our communities of all kinds.
Learn from each other through practicing dialogues and clarifying actions we can take when we arrive home.

Discover what lies at the crossroads of systemic norms and individual actions.

TRAINING FOCUS:

  • Conflict Resolution
  • Diversity
  • Social Change
