"I love witnessing the creative potential that arises when all voices are heard and all needs matter."

Leah Boyd is a professional mediator, group facilitator, communication skills trainer & musician. With a diverse background including special education, human resources and professional music, she brings wide personal experience to her work. In 2013 Leah co-founded Clarity Services, LLC with CNVC trainer Peggy Smith offering services rooted in Nonviolent Communication.

Leah has developed a particular passion for working with families or other groups and organizations who are experiencing conflict or navigating times of transition. Combining the principles of Nonviolent Communication with an understanding of relevant neuroscience and NVC compatible facilitation practices, Leah has developed supportive structures that help groups fully explore what is happening.

Leah trusts the creative potential that arises when all voices are heard and all needs are considered within a supportive structure, allowing creative tension to become a source of possibility. In addition to serving private clients, Leah currently serves on the mediation and training roster for the Maine Agricultural Mediation Program. Additionally she has served as a mediator for the Maine Department of Education, as well as the Maine District Court System and served on the Board of Governors for the Maine Association of Mediators.

In addition to mediation and facilitation, Leah loves sharing Nonviolent Communication through offering NVC trainings from basic beginner classes through more advanced training such as the NVC Integration Yearlong Program offered annually by Clarity Services, LLC. Leah enjoys also developing themed trainings such as Giving & Receiving Feedback as well as customizing trainings for specific clients.

Leah is also part of the musical duo, Peaceful Means, featuring original music uplifting nonviolent consciousness. Woven throughout the music are clear and vibrant threads of Nonviolent Communication. The duo combines vocals and accompanying piano, acoustic strings, and percussion to create music that is both fresh and new and somehow familiar. It is her hope that this music might support other trainers and students.
