Lori DeLaney

Lori earned a doctorate in physical therapy at Western University and a master’s in healthcare administration. She retired after 27 years as the executive director of a nonprofit serving children with disabilities.
Lori DeLaney provides training for nonprofit and healthcare leaders on communicating with compassion, building trust, and leading with curiosity. She has worked with teams at Tichenor Orthopedic Clinic for Children, Care Partners, Rebuilding Thoughts and other organizations whose success depends on effectively communicating through difficult conversations.
She served on the Board of Directors at the Center for Nonviolent Communication, a global organization that contributes to sustainable, compassionate, and “life-serving” human relations. Lori presents regularly on supporting a quality of connection that inspires mutual care using Nonviolent Communication (NVC), an empathy-based communications framework. She has presented at the NVC Conference, Empathic Way Europe, and the Center for Nonprofit Management Conference.
As a former nonprofit executive director, Lori is recognized for her engaging training style that allows individuals to build their skills through supported practice.
