AUDIENCE: all

Build the insights and skills to professionally lead supportive conversations based on science and best practices, founded in Nonviolent Communication and inspired by Coaching for Transformation, Internal Family Systems, and Resonant Language. Become a fine-tuned instrument in service of your client, and deepen your self-confidence and compassion for yourself while expanding professionally.
What is special about the training?
Needs-Based Coaching offers a comprehensive approach to supporting others:
We consider every human being as a whole and resourceful being who holds the answers for themselves within.
Central to our work is learning how to approach a regulated state in ourselves in a balanced, calm, and welcoming presence. You will learn how to be a space holder for others and how to cultivate trust and connection.
As Needs-Based Coaches, we focus on identifying and embracing the individual's lived experience, understanding their underlying needs, and connecting with the dream of their heart as a pathway to personal growth and sustainable decisions.
We recognize that human needs, whether aware or not, are fundamental drivers of human behavior and emotional well-being, and coaching becomes a journey of getting familiar with the inner reality, as well as navigating the outer landscapes gracefully and in accordance with the client’s needs and values.
As a student of Needs-Based Coaching, you will walk this journey yourself, and you will learn how to support others on their journey to self-acceptance and grounded agency.
How is the training structured?
Everything in this education happens online.
3 modules of 3 x 6 hours forms the backbone of this training
The journey begins with learning the basics of attuning to another person, setting and holding the frame for a confidential and dedicated space, and supporting the client through conversational techniques and a warm presence.
Next is to learn five different roadmaps to choose from in order to meet different clients and different topics relevantly and respectfully, and to offer variety in your supportive conversations. All maps have the basic assumptions of feelings as messengers about our needs, and the attempts to meet needs being the drivers of human thoughts and actions.
And we will cover the ethics and boundaries of coaching to set you off with confidence on the path awaiting you, whether it is as a self-employed professional coach or integrating your coaching skills in your work and your relationships.
10 Webinars with special focus
Webinars form another pillar of this program. Between the three modules, they feed you on your learning path and provide new skills through 10 specific topics that add to your coaching palette and nourish your practice.
Topics include:
- Social identity and coaching across power differences
- The neurobiology of coaching
- Using metaphors as a shortcut to self-connection
- Cultivating your intuition
- Ending sessions with empowerment
- Framing the coaching relationship through agreements or contracts
- and more.
1:1 Peer practice
We ask for your commitment to practice with peers 1-2 hours a week. We match you in regard to time zones, and you arrange your practice yourselves. From halfway through the training, we encourage you to engage with external clients and build your personal experience while having support in the learning community. Throughout your endeavor through the program, the step-by-step approach ensures you learn and practice the necessary skills when you need them.
7 hours of group mentoring
The program includes seven hours of group mentoring to further your learning. In groups of up to seven students, you will coach and receive feedback from your mentor. Not only does mentoring solidify and deepen your coaching skills, it counts towards accreditation with the International Coach Federation, should you wish to pursue this international accreditation some day.
Our mentors are certified assessors at the PCC level and have received convincing testimonials from our prior students.

If you have not had any prior exposure to Nonviolent Communication, we will suggest you to join an introduction to NVC and will offer you an NVC tutor before program launch. The Needs-Based Coaching Foundation Training does not offer you a systematic NVC introduction.
"If you don't want to be a coach at the moment (I didn't want to), you will still experience one of the most practical self-development courses. You will receive a bag of useful tools, but most important, you will receive a ton of acceptance, understanding and empathy, which is by itself life transforming. Thank you!" - Jan P.
