Handling conflict with NVC
Discover the beauty of the need
AUDIENCE: intermediate
“When I get triggered or angry, I don’t know what to say or do.” “Everything I say seems to make the conflict worse.” “Why does this affect me so much?” Conflicts can cost us so much time and energy and sometimes seem so hopeless that we can become desperate.
On this theme day, we use the processes and elements of Nonviolent Communication to shed light on conflicts and difficult situations. What do you do when you get triggered? When you are no longer able to respond from self-connection? How do we reconnect with ourselves and the other? And what can we do if that doesn’t work? We will investigate what is affected in us and the other, and practice how we can hear and express this.
The training is for everyone who has already followed a (basic) training in Nonviolent Communication at Equanimity or elsewhere. This training is given by Gillian Engel and Boris Nauta.
